Reporting a scammer to another runner
I tell runners when I join groups that another "client" is a known scammer. Do others do this, should I mind my own business? How long should I treat a scammer this way? Should I stop reporting them to runners after a month or longer? I have a list with people from the past year or so. I won't ever run them or group with them myself, but should I even bother to tell anyone else?

Mind your own business is probably your best bet. Runner's have their own way to deal with them usually.

Mind your own business. If you did that in my group would probably kick both him and you.

I agree with the comments so far
If your going to report someone never ever say you are going to do it out loud or in game chat. Do not report supposed scammers to other players except perhaps if that players is a good friend. Reports go to anet with evidence if you have any, if you don't forget it. |

I like to be told so and so is a rip off artist. This way I can get the gold from them before I do the run. Reputation is everything. What ever happened to taking responsibility for your actions? If you ripped someone off in Pre-Searing (small community before the huntsman) word got around FAST so the community safe guarded itself from scams.
Now in pre its a whole new world! If someone ripped me off I have them on a list and put them into the friends so if they change names on the account I still will not deal with them. Sometimes for the fun of it I will follow them around until they left pre since there is only 5 outposts. Good luck doing that in post! |

I've let the runner know a few times, but usually it's because I've dealt with the runner before, and the scammer has poped up in my group too often. And it's always a private message to the runner giving him a heads up on the guy. I don't do the all-chat screaming that some do though, that's very annoying in my opinion.

Namedrop all you need to (but probably not here since GWG doesn't like it). I don't deal with scammers but leechers and bots and it's best to really tell others. Think about it: what does anybody have to lose except the scammer? If they weren't scamming they wouldn't be in their predicament.
